Sept. 23. Monday pretty well towards morning & today the Dr. came to see me. Said I was getting along all right so far as that was concerned, but I was "all run down" & needed a tonic & doctoring when I got over this. Mrs. Mac Arthur came to see me & brought me some flowers from Nellie. Mary is still sick. It got cooler & windy. This pm Freddie came up - with Edith & "Dan" & the phaeton & I bundled up & went for a drive with them - out the river road & into the park &c. We bought & ate egg crackers coming back. Before supper they drove down for Ned & she made them come back up here again, a few minutes. Sept. 24 Tuesday Gorgeous day - cool. Had a fire in the grate. Read &c. Ned came up - & Mary - this morning. Ned came again after dinner & later Edith. They brought me a funny cow with a Jap. doll driving it. We "posed" it & took its picture - Finally they bundled me up & walked down to Mary's with me. She wanted me to come this p.m. Didn't stay long Ned & Frank rode up again in the
