It was a delightful morning's ride to Canandaigua.
Mrs. Fisher - our beautiful organist sat opposite. We
waited to get a time table & missed a car to the dock, so walked down
the Main St.
Took the little steamer which started up the lake about 9:30. It was
a delightful ride. We sat in rocking chairs in the sun (for warmth
most of the time. Ate some lunch (for breakfast) as we got hungry.
The lake grows prettier (& narrower) as we go up. The landings &
cottages & people were interesting. I snapped a group at the
dock above Science Camp
& another (with doubtful success) at "Miller's".
Also a yacht coming down the
Lake, as it passed our
steamer. When we were nearly to Cook's Point (which is
only 3 miles from the head) we decided to disembark there instead of
getting off at Woodville. As we did so, who should
appear but Dr. Millard - saying his people were all
there (but gone out rowing now with Mrs. Sam. Gould)
and would return this p.m. with us. He did the honors and then took
us up to a beautiful little glen back of the house. I tried to take
a picture in there
