The girls came later (considerably) & we all went over to
Mary's & had "Mrs
'Awkins" & talked up what we should do Labor
Day
and stopped for phosphate (Ned's
treat) &c. Then came home & wrote. Had a bath.

Glorious day. Trudy & I
devoted the morning to our first attempt at ice cream (new freezer)
and succeeded very well. It was just warm enough to enjoy it.
Mary & Emma
Mac. were up in the p.m. and I took their pictures -
all dressed up - in our back yard.
Hamilton was over in the morning for me to
go riding with Helen. So I started
off about 4:30 - Mt. Hope Ave. way - and had a nice
ride with her - out East Ave - & back -
to Lura's &c. about 6 or 8 miles.
Helen showed me the
Pearl St. way home. Reached there about 7 -
& re-froze the ice cream for tea! Everyone pronounced it better than
at the first freezing.
Papa came home today - on an excoursion.

Pleasant. Rode down to Ned's at noon
& had a chat before 12 o'clock. Then rode home on "Diana". Geo.
Humphrey was up before supper to bring some posters - and
again immediately after supper for a ride in the park. I went and we
went out to the
