delightful. Mr. B. had to leave us but we sat on the "sunset seat" a long while. Cool coming back. Mary came up for a little while - afterwards I read aloud to Mama & Trudy. Aug. 22. Thurs. Still nice. We all had dinner down town today at Sibley's. Then Mama & Trudy went to Mt. Hope. Quite cool. This evening Mary & I went & called on the Barnards & the Myers - our Stony Lake acquaintances & chaperones. Mrs. B.

was at the Myers & we had quite a pleasant evening - discussing china & house - furnishings &c. A cozy little house. They went to the car with us about 10:30! Aug 23. Friday. Nothing new to-day but warmer weather. The new Harper's. Lovely letters from Claude & reading aloud tonight. Aug 24. Sat. Another rainy half-holiday - but cleared so that Trudy & I went down to Edith's about 4 o'clock. The girls made us stay to supper. The bride & Ned indulged in repartee. Ned has been out to Palmer's with Freddy all the week - & Edith 2 days. I left early to go to the office for my wheel.
