1895.
Aug 11 Sun. This last week has been uneventful enough to put all in a lump. Tuesday (6th) night 6th Mary & I went to Lura's to tea - riding up with Hamilton Davis. After tea, Lura, Mrs. Baker, the dressmaker, Mr & Mrs Si Weaver, Bess Weaver & 2 lady friends & Warren Fisk & Mary & Matie Arnold & I went to the Lake via Summerville, to the opera "Olivette" in the new auditorium. We were very Bohemian had "tables saved" for us &c.&c. & I quite en- joyed it - tho' I never feel any better for that sort of thing and always think I won't do it again. Got home on the 11:45 car. 7th Wed. (7th) Eve. Miss Harris came up to con- sult me about Boston &c. where she's going. Afterward I wrote letters (Edith &c.) 8th Sat. (8th) I staid at the office till after two, making out contract for our new building &c. & then came home & had a bath before I ate. Stopped for Mary at 4. She treated me to fruited cream & then we went to Edith's to tea. Had a chat with Frederica & E. on the steps & discussed the photographs which have kept me busy all the week - going to Hovey's - making blue- prints & mounting my prints on leaves with a birch bark cover &c.
