& I walked to the store for sup- plies & I met "Mr.
Robinson" the proprietor. Coming back we found a lonely baby
in the woods - I snapped its picture & we came on! We ate up
nearly every thing left in supplies. Had "fish omelette" of the
perch, stewed tomatoes, stewed prunes, coffee, milk, marmelaide, saltines,
maple syrup &c. &c. &c.! Dined indoors - on a trunk, as
rain threatened & came. A cold, chilly night. Mrs. Rose went to bed for warmth and
Mrs. Hughes (their tent now moved back to shelter) did
likewise - also Ralph. Ned & I had a camp fire in front of our
stove an
