& couldn't begin to get thro' the narrow channel. So we tied to
a rock & Ned began pulling in
sunfish again while I dozed in the bow. She said, an hour later - We
must get home. I'll row - I'm strong" - & the performance was
repeated. We decided it was hopeless, so drew the boat high up -
almost perpendicularly - against Sawyer's
rocks, while I tied it to a sapling & Ned slid a
