1895.
"Flora" welcomed me & Hamilton & Mr. Davis so we arrived. Then Mary, & Lura while we were eating. Helen sat next to me & fed me on "peanut cookies" &c. Hamilton had a phonograph which he turned on for our benefit. It was fine. At 8 we took the car to the station with Miss Whipple & saw her off on the "Parthenon" walking along by the car as it went out. Then we walked over to Sibley's while Mary bought a necktie - & then out into the Saturday crowd - put Hamilton Lura & Helen on their car & then Mary & I had soda water & strolled home together. Wrote awhile, later, & did cash acct. &c. June 16. Sunday A lovely morning. Felt rather tired, but got up early and put up lunch &c. Ate breakfast with Papa & Mama & was off for Mary's before 8. Found her only just thro' breakfast. We pumped up our tires (with some trouble) &c&c & finally got started off about 8:35 and went away down Sophia & Frank St's - thro' Lorimer down Lake Ave. & across the Bridge (with its beautiful news! And so down to the boulevard. Wore my old black skirt, which is short, but much too short full to use in a breeze, I find, & gave me a great deal of trouble
